The Grande Prairie Wolves needed a new backcourt leader. They found one in Danielle Steel.

Steel, a local guard, had her talents on display during a women's basketball identification camp at Grande Prairie Regional College on the weekend. At the end of the camp, Wolves head coach Dave Waknuk wasted no time in offering her a spot on the 2012-13 team.

In their final home series of the weekend, the Wolves honoured their senior point guard, Lenka Rohova, who completed her five year college career at GPRC.

Over her five seasons with the Wolves, Lenka transformed into a cornerstone of the program’s recent success, through her tremendous dedication and character.  A team captain this season, Lenka provided leadership and stability at the point guard position and was a factor on both ends of the floor.  Lenka improved every season and led the entire CCAA in assists per game in the 2010/2011 season.

She was a crucial piece of the Wolves team that won the ACAC championship in 2010/2011 and advanced to the semi-finals at the CCAA National Championships.  Lenka was also an honour roll student during her time at GPRC, including a 4.0 GPA last year.  Lenka represented what a Wolves athlete should be about & will be missed.  Once a Wolf, Always a Wolf.

Fifth year guard, Lenka Rohova is playing her final games this weekend as a member of the Wolves program. The skilled Slovakian point guard has been a major piece of GPRC's recent success over the past five years. Lenka's versatility, competitiveness and leadership have been the cornerstones of her successful college career. Lenka has been the ultimate example of what a GPRC student athlete should represent and will be the example used for years to come.

First year guard, Allie Larson joined the GPRC Wolves as a key recruit, who made an immediate impact for the club this season. A versatile athlete loaded with talent, Allie provided a spark with her aggressive play on both ends of the court for the Wolves. Thanks to her relentless work ethic, Allie's game steadily improved all season and will continue to develop as she continues to be a key part of the GPRC program.
